This year we are celebrating 65 years of our charity and on 14 July 2022, hosted a reception for many of our friends and supporters.

Held  in The Churchill Room, at the House of Commons. Our CEO, Madeleine Cassidy, gave a speech to honour our legacy, outline our plan for the future and give special thanks to our friends and supporters who helped celebrate with us.

It was great to see so many people who have worked with, or received treatment from us in the past and present. During the afternoon we launched our #MOVEforCP policy and campaigning framework and were thrilled to pass 1,000 signatures on our petition #freetherapyforCP.

We submitted evidence as part of the APPG on CP’s Call for Evidence regarding Transition to Adulthood. We wanted to bring attention to MPs that there is little support for adults with cerebral palsy (CP). CP is a permanent, yet fluctuating condition and support is needed throughout a person’s life, not just in childhood. The transition from child to adult health services is a challenging and complex process for young people with CP.

In the Bobath Centre’s 65th year, we have launched a petition calling for free specialist therapy for people with cerebral palsy, throughout their lifetime.

Cerebral palsy is a neurological condition caused by brain damage around the time of birth.

We believe too many people in England cannot access the specialist therapy they need and lack the funds to pay for private therapy sessions themselves. We ask for FREE specialist therapy for people with cerebral palsy for pain management and mobility.
Join the movement, by signing the petition.

As a charity dedicated to championing the rights of people with Cerebral Palsy, we are passionate about ensuring children in our community have equal access to education and opportunities to thrive in the classroom.

We recently had the opportunity to submit evidence to the APPG regarding EHCPs for children with cerebral palsy and best practices in teaching and learning for children with Cerebral Palsy.

Changing Lives

Don't just take our word for it, this is what others have to say about their experience at our centre:

"The therapist helped no end. It is obvious how incredibly experienced and knowledgeable the team are"
