World CP Day

Although cerebral palsy (CP) is the most common physical disability in childhood, it isn’t high profile in awareness and is widely misunderstood. Through World CP Day, we have the opportunity to raise awareness of CP in our communities and assist others to look beyond the disability.

What is World CP Day?

World CP Day is an opportunity for the whole world to come together to recognise and celebrate the 17 million people around the world living with cerebral palsy.

When is World CP Day?

On 6 October every year, individuals, families and organisations celebrate by sharing stories, hosting events, and wearing the colour green.

What are we doing for 2022?

We are planning our activities, but to start the ball rolling we have the support of the Mayor of Watford to turn the council offices green for the day! And that is just the start of our activities in this special anniversary year of our charity.

What can you do to support World CP Day?

Why not plan a fundraising event? Check out our how to support us section <link> for some ideas or you can take inspo from our green theme colour and:

  • Go green for Cerebral Palsy
  • Get your green fingers on and plant a flower or tree in support of people with cerebral palsy. Don’t worry you don’t have to be a good gardener to do this!  When you plant your flower you could donate £! to The Bobath Centre.
  • Tell your community about cerebral palsy
  • You can help us to celebrate the day by simply telling others about cerebral palsy and about the work that we do at The Bobath Centre

Also, don’t forget to share what you do on social media, tagging us too or contacting us with what you plan to do.
